One in six people are aged 10-19 years. Adolescence is a unique and formative time. Physical, emotional and social changes, including exposure to poverty, abuse, or violence, can make adolescents vulnerable to mental health problems. Protecting adolescents from adversity, promoting socio-economic learning and psychological well-being, and ensuring access to mental health care are critical for their health and well-being during adolescence and adulthood it is estimated that 1 in 7 (14%) 10-19 year-olds experience mental health conditions(1), yet these remain largely un recognise and untreated.
Adolescents with mental health conditions are particularly vulnerable to social exclusion, discrimination, stigma (affecting readiness to seek help), educational difficulties, risk-taking behaviours, physical ill-health.

Organic farming is an alternative agricultural system which originated early in the 20th century in reaction to rapidly changing farming practices.In these activities YACT provide free organic seed for farmers in Koodakovil village.
With the experience gained in working with the Self Help Groups (SHG) we selected 100 women from the villages to provide financial assistance for buying cows and make them self-sustained by generating income through milch animal. This attempt helped them to generate income which in turn improved their Quality of Life. The arrangement was such that they have to pay back their loans to the SBI within 1 year without any delay on 2005-2006. Now the people are improving their livelihood. Around fifteen households had benefited out of it.
